If this godforsaken year was a dystopian movie, I'd turn it off in five minutes. What a ride it has been! So many surprises that no one, absolutely no one, ever asked for. A blanket problem hit us. We were feeling somewhat powerless as we looked out while being locked in.
As far as I’m concerned, a sense of helplessness got to me. I was wrought with pain, the routine of the everyday began to turn against me and I felt paralysed in personal, targeted ways. I cried way more than I ever have. I learnt way more than I ever have - about myself, about the world and all the things I once loved. It really was about reacquaintance.
It has been a tough year, but I have so much to be thankful for - for family, friends, work, the movies and that teeny-weeny bit of optimism that refuses to leave my body. It is my most ridiculous trait, but also my greatest.
